Bargain Hunting

I decided I would go along to a car boot sale to see if I could find any jewellery tools to build up my collection. I couldn't find any, but it wasn't a wasted trip. One thing that hadn't crossed my mind was materials that I might be able to find there, until I spotted these glass stone. Nothing exciting just the decorative kind, but I think they have potential in the jewellery world.

They came in a massive jar and were practically giving them away. A few were broken, scratched or cracked, but even those I think I may be able to find a use for.

I'm planning to make some rings. [watch this space] I've not decided exactly how the design will look but the colours seem to be very 'in' at the moment so I think they will work well.

I lead you to my second bargain find of the morning, which are these beautiful retro maybe even vintage Coca Cola bottles. They were sold to me by a very sweet elderly lady.

It's a bit of a strange bracelet currently but I think I can work with it to make some nice necklaces. I later discovered an authenticity certificate underneath.

Yep 22ct gold-plating, not bad for the same price as a jar of glass stones. Recyling, upcylcing, reusing hadn't really crossed my mind but after this find I may start to consider other routes. All in all, I'm very pleased with my trip and will definitely be going again next week!
